PROJECT EXECUTION
I was chatting with someone this morning, and they got to talking about a program/project their community was going to be undertaking. He asked whether I’d be interested in talking with him about it. I told him I would sit with him at some point to talk with him.
He said that there are probably some difficult challenges that have to be planned for if it is to come about.
“Yes, there are many good ideas that get talked about but for the most part they never see the light of day. This happens because the execution planning never gets thought out properly,” I said.
To make something happen, even if it is a multi-million dollar project, it doesn’t have to be hard. All you have to to do is make a step by step plan of how it should be implemented (execution strategy). Think of it from the perspective of the day when the project/program is launched. What is it that you need to do to get to that day? Make a list of all the steps that need to happen in between that launch day to where you are now.
When you developed this map in your mind, the anxiety of being responsible for a big project won’t be so overwhelming. The level of your confidence in what you are doing will increase exponentially, and it will be felt by your team and those around you. They will get behind you as you push forward. Investors will give you what you need and be so…
